I am pleased to announce that our Bachelor of Science in Computer Science program received accreditation by the
Computing Accreditation Commission (CAC) of the Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology (ABET) at their
annual meeting held in July. Computer Science joins Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial
Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering in our list of ABET accredited programs.
ABET's decision to accredit the program is the outcome of a process that included preparation of a written
self-study and an on-campus visit last fall. This process required hard work and dedication from faculty, staff,
and administration, especially those in the Department of Computer Science. Recognition by ABET is a reflection
of the quality program we offer. Please join me in congratulating Professor John Geske and the faculty in the
Department of Computer Science for this successful outcome.
