Random bits

  • Got to doing some random bits of research ... namely, updating the ASM website, earlier this week. That felt good. Of course, now, I'm overwhelmed by how much there is left to do. But a journey of a thousand miles begins with one step, right?
  • Isaac still loves the Star Trek Monty Python video. When I get desperate to settle him down, I load it up and play it for him. He dances along to it. It's great. Now I'm poking around to see what else I can find, like the Lego version.
  • Is YouTube a time-sink for anyone else? I keep searching every day and just find the same stuff ... gee, what else should I expect?
  • Being honest is hard. Just got a memo in the mail letting me know how much overload I'm getting for teaching an extra course this term, and the memo gives me too much money. It's awfully tempting to just sit here and take the free money, but I know it's not the right thing to do. (And as a friend pointed out, they can always go back to the paperwork and figure it out later and garnish my wages then, so it's best to get it right the first time.)
  • Had some interesting insights into Matthew 4 the other day ... that'll have to wait for another entry.

Time to go get annihilated at bridge ...

Update: HR says I'm entitled to the bonus pay. Woo-hoo!
