Rest in peace, Randy

Randy Pausch, who gained significant fame this past year for his "Last Lecture" at Carnegie Mellon, died today (as we all knew he would) from pancreatic cancer.  He was 47.

I know I've probably blogged about this before, but inside the CS world, Randy was known for his incredible academic achievements, and the way he affected those who came into his sphere of influence.  The "last lecture" was almost an afterthought ... and that afterthought may have an impact on as many people as the life that led up to it.

I hope I can live a life that inspires a few people to greatness, like Randy did.

Rest well, Randy.  You were the first one to admit that you were no saint.  But for an ordinary guy ... you did pretty good.
