After several months on hiatus, I'm trying this once again ... we'll see how this whole blogging experiment goes ...
(I was about to say "back by popular demand", except that I don't think anyone's been demanding it :) )

1. When was the last time you chatted with a neighbor? About what? (sharing that last bit is optional)
River, perhaps? Always in motion, yet somehow always there.
No, I've never been to Delaware. At least I don't think I have.
Michigan has several nicknames, though the most common is "The Great Lake State". Given Michigan's location touching four of the five Great Lakes, the reason for the nickname should be obvious. It's a decent nickname.
My wife loves taking homemade desserts ... lately, bread puddings have been her go-to for potluck contributions. They're easy to make, and most people enjoy them immensely. For an entree, my wife has an utterly simple recipe for a chicken & stuffing casserole that is usually received quite well.
The advice I was given as a new father was this: trust your wife's instincts. She's going to spend more time around your child during the early days, mostly as a biological necessity, so she's going to be tuned into your child's needs at an intuitive or subconscious level that she won't be able to explain, and most dads won't be able to understand. That's okay; understanding isn't required at this stage as much as trust.
The new semester has started. I am trying to be conscious of living in the moment, and finding the joy and peace in where I've been called to serve. It feels ... uncertain. I don't know how long I can maintain this point of view, but I'm certainly going to try.
