Why diversity is important
Patenting the Co-Ed Code (from Forbes.com)

For those who didn't click the link ... a study of patents over the last 25 years shows that if the team of inventors that submits a patent is of mixed genders, the patent generates 42% more citations in future patent applications than those submitted by single-gender teams.

In short ... if your team is diverse, you're more likely to come up with innovative ideas.  Which might make your company more successful in the long run.

So ... if your co-workers look at diversity initiatives as just another exercise in PC-ness run amok ... here's an answer.  Diversity is good for the bottom line.
